Check your local short track or road course. Talk to people at the track, find the local dealer. You can search on great websites such as RacingJunk.com or Craigslist to find a used car to start out with.

In my personal opinion, start out with a used car and work your way up from there before investing all of your money in a brand new car. Once you get a good feel for racing and the car under you, then you could start looking into upgrading from there.

Start by doing a simple Google search for your local race track. Take a look at their schedule and start attending races regularly.
You can start racing as young as five years old at many go karting facilities.
